Claude is the AI assistant from US company Anthropic. Like ChatGPT, Claude handles tasks in natural language — from text work and analysis to agent workflows. Anthropic positions itself as a safety-focused provider with an emphasis on reliable model behavior.

What sets Claude apart

Anthropic trains its models with Constitutional AI: a defined set of principles guides behavior instead of relying on human feedback alone. Added to this are a context window of up to 1 million tokens for very long documents and a clear data protection stance — business data is not used for model training.

Current versions

The model family covers three performance tiers: Claude Opus 4.8 (flagship), Claude Sonnet 4.6 (standard), and Claude Haiku 4.5 (fast, low-cost). In June 2026, Claude Fable 5 introduced a new class above Opus.

Enterprise use

Claude Enterprise adds SSO, role-based access, admin tooling, and expanded capacity. Typical use cases: analyzing long documents, developing code, and setting up agents for recurring workflows. Its strength lies in complex, multi-step tasks.
