Google Gemini
Also known as: Gemini, Google DeepMind Gemini, Gemini Pro, Gemini Flash
Google Gemini is the AI model family from Google DeepMind and also the name of the associated assistant. Gemini processes text, images, audio, and video in a single model and is deeply integrated into the Google ecosystem — from Search to Google Workspace.
Current models
The current generation includes Gemini 3.1 Pro (February 2026) and the Gemini 3.5 family, which launched with Gemini 3.5 Flash. The Pro models handle up to 1 million tokens of context. Older versions such as Gemini 1.5 have been retired.
Workspace integration
Gemini sits directly inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet. The Workspace Business Standard and Plus plans include the assistant without an additional license. This makes Gemini attractive for companies already working on Google Workspace.
Strengths
Gemini stands out for native multimodality, a very large context window, and seamless connection to Google services. LLM inference runs on Google’s own infrastructure, including its own chips (TPUs).
Data protection
For Workspace customers: prompts and responses are not used for model training, data stays within the customer context and is covered by the Cloud Data Processing Addendum. Google remains a US provider nonetheless — relevant for data residency and digital sovereignty.
