Grok (xAI)

Grok is the language model from xAI, Elon Musk’s AI company. It is tightly integrated with the X platform and available as a chatbot, app, and API.
Current versions
The current generation is the Grok 4 series. The latest model, Grok 4.3 (April 2026), handles up to 1 million tokens of context and accepts video as native input. Grok 5 has been announced as the next major step.
Distinctive feature: real-time access via X
Grok accesses posts on the X platform and web search in real time. No other major model has this direct connection to the X data stream – a difference from models with plain web search.
Use cases and audience
Typical use cases: making sense of current events, tracking trends and sentiment on X, social media research. The main audience is X users with a Premium subscription, plus developers via the xAI API.
